BLUE ANGELS WILL KICK OFF POINT MUGU AIR SHOW.

The Navy's Blue Angels precision flying team will headline at the Point Mugu Air Show, which is expected to draw 250,000 people during the three-day run that begins today.

The gates will open at noon today, with the Blue Angels scheduled to kick off the flight demonstrations at 3 p.m. Other performances include the Army's Golden Knights

 Parachute Team, the Navy Leap Frogs Parachute Team and flyovers by the F-14 Tomcat The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, variable geometry wing aircraft. Gates will open at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, with shows scheduled to start at 10 a.m. The Blue Angels will fly at 3 p.m. both days.

The event also will feature aircraft displays, children activities and community displays.

Point Mugu can be reached by taking the Las Posas Road exit off the Ventura Freeway. Admission is free and parking will be available at the base.

Vendors will be selling food, beverages and souvenirs.

People are asked to leave their pets, ice chests, bicycles, in-line skates and skateboards at home. For more information, call (805) 989-8786.
