BLUE ANGELS UNIT TO RETURN TO POINT MUGU.

POINT MUGU - More than 150,000 people are expected to gather next weekend along the coast in Ventura County for the 41st Point Mugu Air Show at the Naval Base A naval base primarily for support of the forces afloat, contiguous to a port or anchorage, consisting of activities or facilities for which the Navy has operating responsibilities, together with interior lines of communications and the minimum surrounding area necessary for local  Ventura County.

The main attraction at the free event this year will be the world-famous Blue Angels, the U.S. Navy's flight demonstration team, which hasn't performed at the Point Mugu show since 1999.

The Air Show, Saturday and next Sunday, will feature military aircraft from the Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force, with numerous aerial demonstrations with a variety of planes.

The public will be able to see aircraft such as the F-15C Eagle and the E-2C E-2C Hawkeye; Navy Airborne Warning and Control System Aircraft  Hawkeye, both utilized during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

There will also be simulators, current and vintage aircraft on static display, food and beverage F&B is a common abbreviation in the United States and Commonwealth countries, including Hong Kong.  Blue Angels have moved into successively advanced aircraft and, in 1986, unveiled their present jet, the McDonnell-Douglas (now Boeing) F/A-18 Hornet.

Since its inception in 1946, the team has flown for more than 393 million fans.

Because of tight security, visitors to the air show will be prohibited from bringing certain items, including backpacks, coolers and weapons of any kind.

--The Point Mugu Air Show will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 22-23. Take Las Posas Road south from the Ventura (101) Freeway to the naval base.
