A FILLY filly

young female horse up to first breeding or 4 years, then a maiden mare. Called filly foal up to weaning, then weanling filly to 1 year, then yearling filly to 2 years.
 by Coolmore's dual Derby winner Galileo attracted a top bid of A$200,000 (pounds 84,551) on a strong first day of the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in Newmarket, Australia yesterday.

 mare Queen's Suite, a half-sister to Group 2 winner and stakes producer Regal Chamber, the filly was knocked down to owner-breeder Dr Edmund Bateman from long-time vendor Fred Peisah's Lomar Park Stud. A total of seven horses fetched six-figure sums, four of them by Coolmore sires: one each by Galileo and Danehill Dancer and two by Choisir.

While an aggregate of A$7,302,500 (pounds 3,087,157) was down, with fewer horses sold compared to last year, the average price of A$39,261 (pounds 16,598) for 186 horses sold was up by 9.8 per cent. The sale continues today.
