BLOCK DRUG COMPANY, INC. REPORTS YEAR-END AND FOURTH QUARTER SALES AND EARNINGS

 JERSEY CITY, N.J., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Block Drug Company, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: BLOCA) today reported sales for the fourth quarter which ended March 31, 1993 increased by 7 percent to $154,821,000, compared with $144,889,000 for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 1992. Net earnings after taxes were $14,874,000, equal to $.79 per share, compared with $14,834,000 or $.79 per share earned a year ago.
 For the 12 month period sales were $624,826,000, an increase of 11 percent compared with the same period in 1992. Net earnings for the 12 months increased to $61,546,000 or $3.25 per share, compared with $57,267,000 or $3.03 per share for the same period in 1992.
 The company's board of directors today declared a dividend of $.25 per share, payable on July 1, 1993 to class A common stockholders of record as of June 21, 1993.
