He has been drawn for the first two rounds with Retief Goosen and US ace Kim, 24, ranked 15 in the world. And McIlroy hopes playing alongside American Ryder Cup star Kim, who is known for his brash beltbuckles, will bring the best out of him. "We get on great and it will be good fun," said McIlroy, who finished tied20th in the Masters and tied-10th at the US Open this year. "We played three rounds together at the Masters and two rounds together at the US Open. "I really enjoyed playing with him and we are quite quick as well and feed off each other's rhythm. "It is pretty close to see who hits it the longest as he hits it well. "He also has a couple of big belt-buckles but this week I am just back to plain old normal stuff. "I wore a couple of pairs of tartan trousers when I was playing last week which was quite funny. "But the next couple of days I am just going to take it easy, conserve all my energy and put it into the four days of tournament play." McIlroy is managed by leading sports agent Chubby Chandler and has already banked over a pounds 1million in prize money this season. But the youngster, who turned pro in 2007 off plus six, insists his main motivation is winning Majors not boosting his bank balance. He added: "It is nice to be able to buy things and make a lot of money playing your chosen sport. "But you get into golf to try to win tournaments and be the best player you can. "When most guys started to play golf it was because you loved it and wanted to do well. "This and the Masters were the two Majors I always watched on TV. "The Open was also my first Major championship in 2007. "It is a great championship so I am really looking forward to getting back out there and doing well."
