The New York City hearings were held July 23 and 24 at the New York Bar Association. The commission is expected to deliver recommendations March 2002. If we're going to keep people in this city, we needs to create affordable housing," LaPorte said. But he said there are many organizations already working on the issue, such as Housing First and the New York Housing Conference. He questioned whether creating yet another group would help.
