BURBANK - Former Burbank Mayor Earle Blais, who fought organized crime in the city in the 1950s and served on the board of the Metropolitan Water District for nearly 25 years, has died. He was 84.

Blais died at home last Tuesday Last Tuesday is a Christian melodic punk rock band hailing from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. They played their final show on March 10th, 2007. Last Tuesday was formed in 1999 in Harrisburg, P.A.  of congestive heart failure congestive heart failure, inability of the heart to expel sufficient blood to keep pace with the metabolic demands of the body. In the healthy individual the heart can tolerate large increases of workload for a considerable length of time. , said his son, Chuck Blais.

``He and the other four members of the council helped to clean up the city and get it right back on track,'' said former Mayor Mary Lou Howard.

Chuck Blais said that when his father was elected to the City Council, major companies based in Burbank asked him to get organized crime out of the city, and that the Blais family was under enough threat that police escorted him to school.

``I remember a couple times going there and we had a police car that followed us, and we would pull in and all the kids would wonder why is the police car there,'' Blais said.
