See message broker, messaging middleware and Web services. has launched a probe following a blackout that left 200,000 homes and businesses without power yesterday. It will investigate whether interconnectors between Ireland, the North and Scotland were responsible for the power failure. The two-hour power cut began across the country just after 10am and brought some businesses to a standstill. A spokesman said: "An immediate investigation is being launched and while it is not possible to pre-empt the results, one focus of the inquiry is on the operation of interconnectors."
