BJ SERVICES ANNOUNCES NORTH SEA VESSEL CONTRACT

 HOUSTON, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- BJ Services Co. (NYSE: BJS) announced today its North Sea stimulation vessel, the Vestfonn has been awarded second boat status by Maersk Olie OG Gas AS for stimulation services in the Danish sector of the North Sea.
 The contract took effect Jan. 1, 1994 and is for a one-year period.
 Chief Executive Officer J.W. Stewart said, "We are very pleased to have been awarded this status for the second consecutive year. This will build upon the relationship already established with this important customer. We believe our service quality and experience in performing these services for Maersk Olie OG Gas AS and other operators in the North Sea were important elements in gaining this work."
 BJ Services is a leading provider of pressure pumping and related services to the petroleum industry.
