Comparable club sales increased by 5.9% for the month of March. The Company provided the following additional information regarding March sales: Comparable club sales increased in all major markets, with the highest increase in the Southeast and lowest in Metro New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of . Comparable club sales increased during weeks one, two, three and five and decreased during week four. Sales for weeks four and five reflect a calendar shift in the Easter holiday from the fifth week of March last year to the third week of April this year. This resulted in lower sales during week four offset by an extra day of sales in week five as compared to last year. On a comparable club basis, excluding sales of gasoline gasoline or petrol, light, volatile mixture of hydrocarbons for use in the internal-combustion engine and as an organic solvent, obtained primarily by fractional distillation and "cracking" of petroleum, but also obtained from natural gas, by , the average transaction amount for the month of March was up 0.2%.
