(NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange : BJ) today reported that sales for June 2008 increased by 18.8% to $1.05 billion from $887 million in June 2007. On a comparable club basis, sales for June 2008 increased by 16.5%, including a contribution from sales of gasoline worth 8.2%. Merchandise comparable club sales of 8.3% reflected a higher than expected mix of low-margin consumable items such as paper products, health & beauty aids and household chemicals.
