:BJ) today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized the repurchase of up to an additional $100 million of the company's common stock. Stock repurchases will be made from time to time at management's discretion, in the open market or in privately negotiated transactions.

The company also announced that it has repurchased 1 million shares of its common stock since August 5, the beginning of its third quarter, at an average price of $45.95 per share, or $46.0 million. From the inception of its share repurchase Share Repurchase

 activities in August 1998, BJ's has repurchased a total of $191.9 million of stock at an average price of $30.31 per share. Including the additional $100 million authorization, a total of $108.1 million is available under the share repurchase program.
