BIsB signs $32m murabaha deal.

City (pop., 2001: 143,035), capital of Bahrain. Situated at the northeastern tip of Bahrain island, it is Bahrain's largest city, with about one-fifth of the emirate's population.
: Bahrain Islamic Bank (BIsB) has signed a BD12 million ($31.8m) global commodity murabaha agreement with Al Khaleej Development Company (Tameer).

 and Ahli United Bank, the BIsB arranged the 18-month syndicated Islamic finance in support of the business of Tameer, a major real estate company in Bahrain listed on both Bahrain and Kuwait exchanges.

BIsB has also structured the finance through the London Metals Exchange's global commodity murabaha.

The agreement was signed on behalf of BIsB by general manager corporate banking Nadir Mohammed Ibrahim Mohammed Ibrahim may refer to:
  • Mohammed Ibrahim (13th Mughal emperor), ruled, briefly, in 1720.
  • Mohammed Ibrahim (Guantanamo witness), chief buyer for an Afghan department store, requested as a witness by Guantanamo captive Mohamed Rahim.
 and Tameer by vice-chairman and managing director Ahmed Al Qattan.

"The agreement is the culmination of concentrated efforts that have resulted in the BIsB succeeding in assuming the role of the syndicate manager for the other participating banks," said Mr Ibrahim.
