JUDGE AWARDS $1.5 BILLION IN PARRETTI FRAUD: A final default judgment of nearly $1.5 billion was entered against fugitive ex-MGM studio chief Giancarlo Parretti by a judge in favor of Credit Lyonnais Bank Nederland. But it's not over for Credit Lyonnais, which must now try to collect the money from the vanished Italian financier. Superior Court Judge Joseph R. Kalin entered a default judgment Monday against Parretti for violating the conditions of his release from jail after his 1995 arrest in Los Angeles. Kalin then ordered Parretti to pay the former Dutch subsidiary of Credit Lyonnais $1.1 billion and $376 million in interest for fraud in connection with Parretti's 1990 acquisition and looting of MGM MGM
