Prudential Financial employees Mary Deuter of Agoura Hills, Carol Roseman of West Hills and Liliana West of Santa Clarita each earned a $250 Prudential Cares Volunteer Grant Award for their work with local nonprofits.

City National Bank recently named Westlake Village resident Scott Aney its senior vice president and regional manager for the company's San Fernando Valley and Ventura County commercial banking services unit. Working out of City National's San Fernando Valley Regional Center in Sherman Oaks, Aney will oversee a team of financial services professionals in delivering commercial and private banking and wealth management services to the region's clients. Aney began his career with Bank of America in 1999, and he has worked as a senior vice president and regional manager with Citibank since 1999.

Steve Scott, associate for commercial real estate provider Lee and Associates' Sherman Oaks office, recently represented MDX X-Ray in buying a 16,168-square-foot industrial building at 14250 Arminta St. in Panorama City for more than $3.3million. Brent Weirick and John DeGrinis of Colliers International represented the seller, Voit Van Nuys, LLC. Additionally, Lee and Associates principal Scott Romick recently completed a $1.1million lease transaction for a 5,000-square-foot retail building at 5140 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood. Romick represented the tenant, the martial arts training facility XMA World Headquarters, and Brett Winnick of Piken represented the property's owners, BMP Enterprises.

The Los Angeles area's private, nonprofit film office in charge of helping on-location production, FilmL.A., Inc., recently named entertainment industry and labor relations veteran Bryan Unger chairman of its 2007 board of directors. Unger is the Western executive director of the Directors Guild of America and joined FilmL.A.'s board shortly after it was restructured in 2003. He replaces outgoing chair Jean Presitt of the Independent Film and Television Alliance. Among other changes to the board, Mike Miller of Toluca Lake has been elected as the representative in charge of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.

Jim Siebersma, executive vice president and head of the asset appraisal group at the Calabasas-based appraisal and liquidation company Buxbaum Group, recently took the additional responsibilities of chief operating officer. Siebersma joined the Buxbaum Group in 1989 and has led the asset appraisal group since 1996. Buxbaum also named Scott Rusczyk its vice president of business affairs
