In 2000, Health Net was the first health plan to offer a cross-border plan for employers. CHARO is a nonprofit organization with a stated mission to provide quality services and innovative programs for the economic advancement of the Los Angeles Latino community. Dr. Walter W. Mosher Jr., a co-founder and CTO for Precision Dynamics Corporation, was inducted into the ID People Award's Hall of Fame on Nov. 28 in Milan, Italy, during the ID World International Congress. PDC, based in the city of San Fernando, is a global leader in automatic wristband identification systems for health care, patron management and law enforcement. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's press secretary Margita Thompson is leaving the administration to become vice president of corporate communications for Health Net in Woodland Hills. Before joining Schwarzenegger's administration, Thompson was political producer for CNN's ``Larry King Live,'' and before that served as press secretary to Lynne Cheney. Anticipating 50 percent growth in 2007, Printing Technologies Inc. has bought a 79,400-square-foot industrial facility in Chatsworth. The building, at 21001 Nordhoff St., will replace the laser and ink jet cartridge manufacturer's old facility at 9526 DeSoto Ave., which the company has sold to local investors. Printing Technologies plans to move into the new building in the second quarter of 2007 and employ 250 people at the site. Burbank-based Walt Disney Company has named Kerry Chandler to the newly created position of senior vice president, corporate responsibility. Chandler will oversee the operations of Disney's worldwide outreach and environmental affairs organizations and the Walt Disney Foundation. Chandler now lives in Hong Kong where she serves as vice president of human resources at Hong Kong Disneyland. She has also worked for human resources with IBM, Motorola, Exxon and McDonell Douglas. Thinkwell Design and Production of Burbank has won the 13th annual Thea THEA - Theatre (college department) THEA - THousand Element Array Award for outstanding achievement in the attraction category from the Themed Entertainment Association for its theme park Ski Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. This marks the fourth time Thinkwell has earned a Thea during its five years of operation. Ski Dubai provides an indoor, Alpine-themed ski- and snow-play resort environment in the middle of the Arabian desert Arabian Desert or Eastern Desert, c.86,000 sq mi (222,740 sq km), E Egypt, bordered by the Nile valley in the west and the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez in the east. It extends along most of Egypt's eastern border and merges into the Nubian Desert in the south. The Arabian Desert is sparsely populated; most of its inhabitants are based around wells and springs.
