Utah-based Listen Technologies Corp. has appointed Tim Schaeffer of Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  as vice president of strategic development. He will research, plan and develop business opportunities and oversee Listen's product road map. Schaeffer previously was vice president of sales for Americas for Otari Corp. From 1980 to 1995, he owned and managed New West Audio.

For the sixth consecutive year, the Valley Economic Development Center is partnering with the Internal Revenue Service to help low-income families with free tax help.

The VEDC VEDC Valley Economic Development Center (Los Angeles, CA, USA)  will offer assistance from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through April 12 at the Pacoima Development Federal Credit Union, 13168 Van Nuys Blvd., and San Fernando Learning Center, 1240 Truman St., No.150, San Fernando.

Tax assistance will also be offered from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays as well as Wednesdays at the VEDC office, 5121 Van Nuys Blvd., Third Floor, Van Nuys.

The Bookstein Tax Clinic at California State University, Northridge CSUN offers a variety of programs leading to bachelor's degrees in 61 fields and master's degrees in 42 fields. The university has over 150,000 alumni.
