Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Van Nuys resident Renee Lonner to the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Lonner has served as clinical director and chief clinical officer at Tobert T. Dorris and Associates since 1992, and she has owned a private psychotherapy practice since 1976. She is also a past president of the California Society for Clinical Social Work and a member of the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work and the National Association of Social Workers. She is a Democrat.

Certified public accountants Grobstein, Horwath and Co. LLP of Sherman Oaks named chartered accountant Gregory A. Wahl a partner. Wahl specializes in auditing companies that file with the Securities and Exchange Commission and has particular expertise in the subprime-lending, consumer-electronics and distribution industries. Before coming to Grobstein, Horwath and Co., Wahl had worked at the accounting firm KPMG in Vancouver and Atlanta since 1999, most recently as an audit manager.

City National Bank promoted Glendale resident Mark Forbes to executive vice president and division manager. Forbes will be responsible for providing a wide range of financial services to real-estate developers in the bank's California and Nevada markets. Forbes joined City National in 1992 as vice president and asset manager in its former real-estate special-assets department and was promoted to senior vice president in 1997. He began his banking career in 1980 with Union Bank.

Paramount Pictures named Dan Butler senior vice president, business affairs and legal, music. Butler will be responsible for negotiating deals with composers, songwriters, co-publishers, music supervisors, record labels, recording artists and producers for Paramount's movies, soundtrack albums and home-entertainment releases. Butler joins Paramount after eight years at Warner Bros., where he served most recently in the equivalent position.

North Hills resident Doug Deutsch, president and founder of Doug Deutsch Publicity Services, earned Publicist of the Year honors for 2006 at the recent South Bay Music Awards in Hermosa Beach.
