Byline: Dana Bartholomew Staff Writer

student walked outside, there were 3,000 more lying in her cul de sac CUL DE SAC. This is a French phrase, which signifies, literally, the bottom of a bag, and, figuratively, a street not open at both ends. It seems not to be settled whether a cul de sac is to be considered a highway. See 1 Campb. R. 260; 11 East, R. 376, note; 5 Taunt. R. 137; 5 B. & Ald. .

``I said, wow, who did this,'' said Slyepnyova, standing next to a heart-shape arrangement of roses, more than 19 feet wide and 23 feet long, outside her driveway. Some of the roses spelled out ``Karolina, Happy Birthday,'' in Russian.

``It's the greatest day I've ever had.''

Slyepnyova, whose family emigrated three years ago from Odessa, Ukraine, has some ideas about who sent them - maybe a 27-year-old suitor SUITOR. One who is a party to a suit or action in court. One who is a party to an action. In its ancient sense, suitor meant one Who was bound to attend the county court, also, one who formed part of the secta. (q.v.) .

``He's got a great personality,'' said the would-be heart surgeon. ``But I don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)

exactly who's done this. If it is really him, it made me feel special today.''

What to do with all the roses? Slyepnyova said she'll likely place them near her bed. ``It's a great and exciting feeling,'' she said.
