Nuckels has served Birmingham Steel in a variety of positions in administration and scrap procurement since joining the Company in 1980. As Chief Operating Officer of Pacific Coast Recycling, he will have full responsibility for the operations, administration and scrap purchasing of the new joint venture.

In making the announcement, Frederick J. Rocchio, Jr., Executive Vice President of Development and Technology at Birmingham Steel, said, "Jim's many years of corporate leadership and involvement with the scrap industry provide an excellent background for his new responsibilities."
