located at the foot of Leslie Street in Toronto. The results of the $100,000 pilot, may be used to develop engineering performance data required to design a full scale BIOFILTAIR(TM) odour control system.

The study, project managed by Earth Tech Consultants, is part of a $15 million contract that they were awarded earlier this year.

When completed, the proposed full-scale odour control system will be the largest of it's kind at a municipal works in North America, treating an estimated 770,000 cubic metres (450,000 cubic feet per minute Cubic feet per minute (CFM) is a non-SI unit of measurement of gasflow (most often airflow) that indicates how many cubic feet of gas (most often air) pass by a stationary point in one minute. ). The project is part of a $130 million capital improvements program.

"Depending on the scope of supply, this 2007 installation is estimated at somewhere between $8 to $10 million," said Brian Herner, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of BIOREM. "It would set a new record in size of installation for a municipal biofilter and is consistent with the growth we are seeing in this market." BIOREM previously installed a $1 million biofilter system at this same plant in 2001 for successful control of odour emissions from a new sludge loadout facility. Other large installations completed by BIOREM include two 425,000 cu meters per hour (250,000 cubic feet per minute) systems at meat by-product rendering plants.

BIOREM through its wholly owned subsidiary, BIOREM Technologies Inc., manufactures BIOSORBENS(TM) a high-efficiency permanent biofilter media and is a leading supplier of biofilters for air pollution control in municipal and industrial applications including the BASYS BASYS Balanced Automation Systems (TM) modular and BIOFILTAIR(TM) field erected systems. With over 400 installed systems and over a decade of experience, the Corporation's groundbreaking biofilters are the technology of choice for wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations across North America. www.biorem.biz.
