BIO-VASCULAR PICKS LYONS AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

ST. PAUL, MINN., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Bio-Vascular, Inc. (NASDAQ: BVAS) has elected James F. Lyons, chairman of the board, to the additional position of chief executive officer, the company announced today.
Lyons has been a director of Bio-Vascular since 1990 and chairman of the board since 1991. He has been in the health care industry for more than 30 years and served as president and chief executive officer of Bio-Medicus, Inc., from 1978 until the company was acquired by Medtronic, Inc., in 1990.
"Bio-Vascular has strengthened itself while preparing to move ahead. The basics are in place -- a sound management team, fiscal stability and an established position in the marketplace," Lyons said. "The company is ready now to build on this foundation, taking advantage of new opportunities and expanding its markets. Given that agenda, the Board asked me to take the lead in implementing the necessary steps over the next year or two, and I have agreed to that challenge."
Bio-Vascular, Inc., based in St. Paul, is a manufacturer and marketer of proprietary consumable medical products for cardiac and vascular surgery.
