BIO Releases New Online Video Series Highlighting the Wonders of Biotech.

 (BIO) has created a series of educational web videos to answer many of the basic questions of biotech - "What is it?" "How does it affect me?" and "Where is it happening? - and provide insight into the myriad ways in which biotechnology is helping heal, feed and fuel the world. BIO produced the video series in close collaboration with Banyan Productions Banyan Productions is a production company located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Clients include TLC, FOX, NBC, Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite, Travel Channel, Lifetime, HGTV, Discovery Channel, and the Food Network. , a renowned video production company.

Hosted by Dr. David Targan, BioBytes endeavor to answer the most basic of these questions, with topics ranging from biotech therapies, to biofuels and the future of biomaterials. BioDigests go into greater depth with compelling, true stories of the companies, scientists, and entrepreneurs who are driving biotech innovation and the patients, farmers, consumers and many others who are benefiting from these breakthroughs.

"Research shows that few people truly understand biotechnology or are aware of its contributions to addressing some of the most pressing global challenges," said Jeff Joseph, vice president for Communications at BIO. "With the help of our host, Dr. Targan, and the many companies who have participated in the project, we are able to better tell the story of biotechnology today and its promise for the future. Increasing awareness and appreciation of biotechnology among the general public will help provide an environment more conducive to achieving our advocacy goals, introducing new technologies and promoting investment."

Both the BioBytes and BioDigest videos can be viewed on http://Biotech-Now.org - BIO's new social media website designed to educate and engage the public in the biotech discussion. New videos and other information will be posted on a weekly basis.

BioBytes' host, Dr. David Targan, is a practicing internal medicine physician with the Lankenau Hospital Lankenau Hospital is a 351-bed tertiary care, community based teaching hospital located in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania.

Lankenau was founded in 1860 as the German Hospital of Philadelphia, and located in North Philadelphia on Morris Street.
