BIO Congratulates Dr. Norman Borlaug on Receipt of Congressional Gold Medal.

 (BIO), released the following statement today regarding Dr. Norman Borlaug's receipt of the Congressional Gold Medal
Congressional Gold Medals should not be confused with the Medal of Honor (commonly called the "Congressional Medal of Honor"), which is the highest military decoration of the United States.
, America's highest civilian honor:

"Dr. Norman Borlaug Norman Ernest Borlaug (born March 25 1914) is an American agricultural scientist, humanitarian, Nobel laureate, and has been called the father of the Green Revolution.[1]  has spent more than half a century tirelessly working to ensure there is enough safe and nutritious food for the world's population. The biotechnology community applauds his lifetime of unprecedented achievements and efforts to improve agricultural productivity Agricultural productivity is measured as the ratio of agricultural inputs to agricultural outputs. While individual products are usually measured by weight, their varying densities make measuring overall agricultural output difficult.  in the developing world, which have saved billions from starvation.
