VALENCIA - One driver was seriously injured Thursday when a big rig Big Rig was a punk band from the San Francisco Bay Area fronted by singer/songwriter Jesse Michaels. The 11:20 a.m. crash tied up the northbound I-5 for about 10 miles until almost 2 p.m.

When Elias hit his brakes, his trailer fishtailed, and he veered to the left, sideswiping a Toyota truck and sending it out of control on the freeway, Peterson said. The Toyota hit the center divider and overturned, leaving its driver, 73-year-old William Kitchen of Simi Valley, with serious injuries. Kitchen was treated at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital for deep cuts to his head, arms and elbows.

Meanwhile, Elias' rig also hit a Ford truck pulling a boat.
