BIG LEAGUE SOFTBALL: DISTRICT 51 WINS BIG.

The Antelope antelope, name applied to a large number of hoofed, ruminant mammals of the cattle family (Bovidae), which also includes the sheep and goats. The North American pronghorn is sometimes called an antelope, but belongs to a separate, related family (Antilocapridae).  Valley's District 51 Big League softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Invented (1888) in Chicago as an indoor game, it was at various times called indoor baseball, mush ball, playground ball, kitten ball, and, because it was also played by women, ladies'  team might no longer be in title contention, but its most recent performance suggests it hasn't quite lost its competitive edge.

District 51 had 11 hits, including two homers, in a 15-0 mercy-rule victory over Ontario, Canada, on Thursday during the second to last day of the Big League World Series in Kalamazoo, Mich.
