 WILLISTON, Vt., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Vermont-based JBI


(a division of Playtex Apparel, Inc.), inventors of the first sports bra and makers of Jogbra Sports Bras, reports strong sales from the recent introduction of a new line of sports bras -- in fact, the only line of sports bras designed specifically for women C cup and larger.
 The Jogbra "SportShape(tm) Collection," introduced at the Atlanta Super Show in February, is a hit in sporting goods stores and catalogs, promising another year of steep growth for JBI.
 "The launch met with huge retailer enthusiasm at the Super Show with a sell-in of targeted accounts reaching over 95 percent," said Jan Kimbrell, vice president of sales. "We knew we had a winner when every order at the show included this product."
 Early returns at retail are strong. "One of our top accounts showed sales of over 100 units of the SportShape Sport Top the first week on the floor," said Kimbrell.
 "Spiegel catalog reports sales and interest have been brisk since the catalog came out in February, and Sport Club catalog has been besieged with calls," she said.
 The SportShape Collection is a line featuring the SportShape Sport Top, a truly unique, innerwear/outerwear sport top that has a fully constructed inner sportsbra, quick-adjust Velcro straps, adjustable covered back closure and, initially, is available in eight sizes to fit a 32 Full C to a 40 DD. Sizes will be expanded to 44 DD in September.
 "Nearly half of active women 25-49 years old are now in that category," according to Hinda Miller, president and co-founder of the company. "Larger-breasted women just have not been able to find sports bras in their size, and that includes those women with larger breasts as well as active larger women."
 "The solution was not just to maker larger bras," said JBI founder Lisa Lindahl. "We need to engineer bras that would truly control breast motion and feel comfortable. All our bras are biomechanically tested to accurately measure breast bounce control, rated for specific sports and they're consumer-tested to ensure the right fit and comfort.
 "All in all, it reaffirms that we have successfully designed products to meet the special needs of this previously underserved group of women," Lindahl said.
