Families can treat dad to an afternoon of free big band music on Sunday when Horace Heidt Horace Heidt (May 21, 1901 - December 1, 1986) was an American pianist, Big Band leader, radio and television personality, and entertainer.

He was born in Alameda, California, and he attended Culver Academies.

Heidt, whose father was a 1930s and '40s big band leader, has led the band at previous Father's Day concerts. Horace Heidt Sr. performed on radio and television and created the Magnolia Magnolia, city, United States
