BIG 5 JOINS GALLERIA IN SUING GLENDALE.

GLENDALE - Big 5 Corp. and its landlord have filed lawsuits against the city over its approval of Rick Caruso's Americana at Brand Americana at Brand will be a large outdoor shopping community in Glendale, California. The site is owned by Caruso Affiliated, who owns many other commercial properties such as The Grove at Farmers Market in Los Angeles, CA.  mall.

The organization, founded in 1957, has 65,000 members worldwide, which include shopping center owners, developers and managers, as well as other individuals,  spring convention next week in Las Vegas, Nev., and Glendale Mayor Bob Yousefian said Friday he is working to arrange a meeting between the rivals.

General Growth has bankrolled a petition drive to require voter approval of the $264 million Rick Caruso center and has until Thursday to submit the required 8,117 signatures that would force a public referendum on its zoning.
