Technologies Corporation, (NQB NQB National Quotation Bureau, Inc (now Pink Sheets) :BIFS) announced today that its operations division has completed the installation of the SWOMI SWOMI Seamless Wireless Omnidirectional Mobile Internet (tm) wireless broadband High-speed wireless transmission of data. What is "high" speed is always a changing number. Wireless systems are typically slower than land-based, wireline networks. In the past, wireless broadband started at 250 Kbps, whereas land-based broadband was generally considered to start at T1  network system for the first one thousand rooms of those hotels and resorts under contract in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Myrtle Beach is a city and in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. It is part of the Grand Strand, a stretch of beaches along the South Carolina coastline, and the combined Myrtle Beach-Conway-North Myrtle Beach MSA.  area. The company plans to begin operation of the SWOMI(tm) system for the guests and patrons of these hotels beginning December 1, 2000. BIFS Technologies Corporation presently has an additional 2500+ hotel rooms under contract in the South Carolina South Carolina, state of the SE United States.  test market and is continuing its deployment of the SWOMI(tm) network to those facilities as well. The company expects to have these additional facilities completed and operational by the end of this quarter.

BIFS Chairman, Al Keyser commented on the developments by stating, "favorable adoption of the SWOMI(tm) network technology by those hotels and resorts in our test market have confirmed for us that the deployment of high-speed Internet connectivity is of keen interest to this segment of the business community. We continue to be encouraged by the unity of thought that appears to exist on the part of those people within the hotel industry that a high-speed wireless alternative holds promise as a potential solution to the demands expressed by their customers for high speed connectivity.  orientation also seems to offer a degree of enhanced application value to these hotels by establishing a communications network that facilitates the mobility of their patrons as they move from one hotel to another within the network and remain connected."

The initial marketing efforts of the company for its SWOMI(tm) product have focused on the identification and marketing of their broadband wireless system to hotels and resorts in high-density business and vacation spots around the country. The company selected Myrtle Beach, South Carolina as its test market and has been actively engaged in the marketing and rollout of SWOMI(tm) in this area since the initial announcement of the product. Along with this endeavor, the company's engineering efforts have focused on the development of an installation protocol that could support the rapid rollout of SWOMI(tm) to other regions that possess similar profiles and which could put the SWOMI(tm) system in place rapidly in order to meet the demands of travelers who desire broadband Internet connectivity.

, Engineering Manager spoke to the announcement by stating, "our effort to identify and adopt a rapid deployment protocol for the SWOMI(tm) network was viewed as a critical element of our overall engineering strategy for support of the SWOMI(tm) system. Having the ability to rapidly deploy the system to meet customer demands was of paramount concern to our company.  support of the SWOMI(tm) network, along with our new (Remote Operations Center) concept to manage network operations, I am confident that we are now ready to begin expanding the reach of SWOMI(tm) to other geographic regions of the country and can do so expediently. The only remaining engineering goal for this particular phase of the SWOMI(tm) project, is to finalize development and testing of the advanced compression and encryption technology made possible by our strategic alliance partner Ecom Ecom Corporation (OTCBB OTCBB

). This engineering effort focuses on maximizing the throughput emulation of the SWOMI(tm) system beyond T1 levels, while providing data security and protection. Assuring encryption protection, along with ultra high-speed data transfer of those data packets transmitted over the SWOMI(tm) network is viewed as another distinctive difference between SWOMI(tm) and other providers."

Dr. Hal Campbell, Chief Technical Consultant for the company expressed his thoughts on the development by commenting, "the combination of establishing a rapid rollout protocol for the SWOMI(tm) system, along with our research and development efforts aimed at the effective wireless delivery of highly compressed and encrypted data packets to support video conferencing, multimedia delivery, IP based telephony, and television broadcasting over the Web, have (in my opinion) brought SWOMI(tm) to the leading edge of development. All that remains is to engage the marketing plan and concentrate on building out the SWOMI(tm) network beyond the test area of Myrtle Beach."
