BID offers incentives to improve facades, storefronts.


In an effort to encourage Eighth Avenue property owners and retailers to make simple, but vital improvements to their facades and storefronts, the Fashion Center BID has unveiled an incentive program called "Great on Eighth." To improve the aesthetics aesthetics (ĕsthĕt`ĭks), the branch of philosophy that is concerned with the nature of art and the criteria of artistic judgment.  of the district, The Fashion Center BID is developing plans for each Eighth Avenue facade facade (fəsäd`), exterior face or wall of a building. The term implies ordered placement of its openings and other features and thus seems inapplicable to a wall without design.  and storefront, and offering a $3,000 monetary incentive to those property owners and retailers who complete the suggested revisions and improvements to their sites.

Each plan and incentive represents a $20,000 investment by the Fashion Center toward upgrading the properties in the district.

 Associates will offer pre-construction consulting. Simple, new designs have been created for each property. The renderings of what the premises could look like will be presented, along with a realistic budget and a list of vendors and contractors. A visual merchandiser will address issues regarding store window displays. All these services will be offered free of charge.
