Anschutz Entertainment Group The Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) is a sporting and music entertainment presenter and a subsidiary of The Anschutz Corporation. The company owns or operates several major entertainment/sporting venues, including Staples Center and The Home Depot Center and beginning in  executives will meet today and Friday in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  to discuss submitting a bid for Home Depot Center to host the 2008 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials.

 may not reach a decision Friday, Peterson said. Bids are not due to USA Track and Field until July 31.

A $50,000 deposit must accompany the bid. The deposit, minus $3,000, is refunded if the bid is unsuccessful.

The 2-year-old Home Depot Center hosted the United States Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 23-26. The facility has also hosted three adidas Track Classic events.

Athletes at the outdoor championships were happy with the facility, which has one of the world's fastest surfaces, and surrounding amenities, meet director Rich Perelman said.

The meet drew approximately 10,000 fans on its final days. The 2000 and 2004 Trials in Sacramento averaged more than 20,000 fans per day.

``I think we have a very good chance of winning (the Trials) and we will make them very successful if we get them,'' Peterson said.
