BID's clean sweep at awards.


The Columbus Avenue Business Improvement District (BID), which represents retail, business and property owners along Columbus Avenue, from West 67th Street to West 82nd Street, has been honored with two awards by America in Bloom (AIB AIB n abbr (BRIT) (= Accident Investigation Bureau) → oficina de investigación de accidentes

The Columbus Avenue BID received a 2006 Champion Award in the Small Business District category and a Special Mention in recognition of the district's "Tidiness," one of eight judging categories.

The AIB Awards ceremony was held in Eureka Springs, AK, where many of the attendees wore Victorian costumes in honor of the host town, which uses the theme, "Life in the Past Lane."

 BID won a 2006 Champion Award as a Medium Business District. Other winners in various population size categories, included Eureka Springs, AR; Oberlin, Ohio Oberlin is a city in Lorain County, Ohio, United States, to the south and west of Cleveland. Oberlin is perhaps best known for being the home of Oberlin College, a liberal arts college and music conservatory with approximately 3,000 students. ; Wickliffe, OH; Greenfield, IN; Columbus, IN; and Fayetteville, AR. The University of Missouri-Columbia won the University Campus category.

The awards were based upon assessments and ratings provided by two professional judges, following an extensive tour of the Columbus Avenue BID in spring 2006.
