BICYCLE THEFT SUSPECT TAKES SOME LUMPS.

A theft suspect found out too late that a $5,500 custom-made racing bike had no brakes.

, 21, was hospitalized Wednesday in the jail ward of County/USC Medical Center with a fractured skull as a result of a nasty spill that police said he took on Jeffrey Thompson's stolen bike.

A barking dog alerted a neighbor who found Garcia and the bike at the bottom of steep Terango Drive.
