BIBR Wins Design Prize.


The Bard Graduate Center The Bard Graduate Center (aka BGC) for Studies in the Decorative arts, Design, and Culture was founded in 1993 by Susan Weber Soros (wife of George Soros). The center, located in Manhattan, offers both M.A. and Ph.D. degrees.  for Studies in the Decorative Arts decorative arts, term referring to a variety of applied visual arts, both two- and three-dimensional, including textiles, metalwork, ceramics, books, and woodwork, as well as to certain aspects of architecture (see ornament), public buildings, and private houses (see  has selected BIBR's March/April 1999 cover and layout, designed by graphic designer Michelle Washington as one of the textile, graphic, interior and product designs that will be exhibited in "Women Designers in the USA, 1900-2000: Diversity and Difference," from November 15 -- February 25, 2001. This landmark exhibition will celebrate 100 years of women's contributions to the field of design. Curator CURATOR, persons, contracts.
