BIBB LIVING UP TO EXPECTATIONS SWIMMER DOES WELL AT JUNIOR NATIONALS.

Bibb, a Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  resident, was one of six female swimmers in the state to capture five titles last spring - she led La Reina La Reina (Spanish: "The queen") is a commune of Chile located in Santiago Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region. Bibb joined with Conejo Simi Aquatics teammates Laura DeCesare (La Reina), Camille Duckett (Thousand Oaks), Alexandra Nalevanko (Camarillo) and Alex Sullivan (Newbury Park) in five long-course meets the past six weeks, culminating with her efforts Saturday at the Speedo An earlier scalable font technology from Bitstream Inc., Cambridge, MA (www.bitstream.com). Bibb, a junior, was looking to record her first top-16 finish in the 50-meter freestyle but missed qualifying for the evening session after finishing 34th, in 27.56 seconds, at the William Woollett William Woollett (August 15, 1735 - May 23, 1785), English engraver, was born at Maidstone, of a family which came originally from the Netherlands.

He was apprenticed to John Tinney, an engraver in Fleet Street, London, and studied in the St Martin's Lane academy.

That performance was the highest finish by CSA (1) (Canadian Standards Association, Toronto, Ontario, www.csa.ca) A standards-defining organization founded in 1919. ``She had been hitting her starts all week, and after what she did in the 100, I thought she'd have a good chance,'' CSA coach Paul Davidson said. ``We just wanted to get on the (scoreboard).''

Bibb was one of few CSA swimmers who scored at last year's National Club Swimming Association Junior National Championships in Palo Alto Palo Alto, city, California

 in the 200 free relay (1:49.39), teaming with Sullivan, Vanda Gyuris (Thousand Oaks) and Alemany of Mission Hills graduate Leah Tourtellotte (Cornell).

Bibb again did some of her best work in the relays this week, clocking the fastest leadoff split (27.21) of 45 swimmers competing in Wednesday's 200 free relay. Duckett, Nalevanko and Sullivan swam the final three legs for CSA, which finished 24th (1:51.46).

In Friday's 400 free relay, Bibb had the fourth-fastest leadoff leg (58.97) of 47 swimmers. DeCesare, Duckett and Sullivan also competed on the relay, which finished 25th (4:03.73).

At last week's ConocoPhillips Senior National Championships, Bibb had a 58.64 split on the second 100, as she joined Sullivan, Tourtellotte and Auburn University sophomore Kara Kara (kär`ə), river, c.140 mi (230 km) long, NE European and NW Siberian Russia. It flows N from the N Urals into the Kara Sea, forming part of the traditional border between European and Asian Russia. It is navigable in its lower course.  Denby on CSA's 400 free-relay team that finished 22nd of 53 teams (3:57.17).

In her final swim Saturday at the Junior Nationals, Bibb joined Duckett, Sullivan and Nalevanko in the 400 medley relay, finishing 21st (4:38.29) of 30 teams in the morning session.

Bibb's best finish of the summer came at last week's Southern California Swimming Junior Olympics in Mission Viejo. She finished third in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.36) in the 15-over division. Sullivan won the 100 free (59.14) and was second in the 400 free (4:28.19).

``(Bibb and Sullivan) will both be (at Senior Nationals) next year,'' Davidson said. ``Alex has improved so much, and Emily is such a competitor, I feel very confident that they'll qualify.''

Next year's Senior Nationals and Junior Nationals will again be held in Irvine.
