BIA, a worldwide manufacturer of test equipment for automotive, aerospace and industrial applications, introduces the BMC 800, a comprehensive Motion and Measurement Controller, capable of managing both actuator control and data acquisition and allowing many different systems and sensors to be used without additional conditioning systems, announced Rene Carlini, BIA Director - Export and Business Development.

One BMC 800 provides from one to eight channels or, for greater capacity, a network of up to 16 BMC 800 units can be linked for any testing application, including hydraulic or electric actuators, sub-systems or to economically update existing test benches.

The BMC 800's multi-processing parallel construction features increased power for real- time test control in a wide range of applications and eliminates power and software complexity issues. The embedded hardware and software in each channel has its own calculating and communication capabilities, enabling each channel to synchronize its own actions to the general application process and permitting the sharing of information among networked modules.

Each channel offers a wide range of conditioning and data acquisition. Displacement/angle and force/torque transducers can be directly plugged into each channel to control the servo-drive and servo-valve signals.

BIA's "drag and drop" software easily links basic processes including function generation, data acquisition, events and triggers to build complex tests. A Windows-based supervisory PC connected by Ethernet checks control application progress and collects data in a synchronized and structured way.
