Putnam County Putnam County is the name of 9 counties in the United States of America, many of which are named for Israel Putnam, who was a hero in the French and Indian War and a general in the American Revolutionary War:
  • Putnam County, Florida (Named for Benjamin A.
, W.Va., selected BI Inc. to supply electronic monitoring technology for sentenced offenders who are serving time in a home detention program. . Under terms of the agreement, BI will supply Putnam County officials with 40 HomeGuard 200[TM] units, the company's premiere home detention system, and Guard-Server 200, a host computer system. HomeGuard 200 monitors the presence or absence of an individual at a specific location, usually home. It is designed to ensure that offenders released to community supervision maintain schedules and curfews imposed by the county court or the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. "Many rural areas, such as Putnam County, understand the benefit of a home detention program in terms of saving money and managing offenders over wide geographic areas," said Bruce Thacher, BI's chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)
