Brown Harris Stevens announced the winners of their 2004 President's Award, 2004 Brokers of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and 2004 Biggest

Deal of the Year at the residential real estate firm's annual meeting last week.

The President's Award was presented to Carel Corcoran, who has been with Brown Harris Stevens since 1957, longer than any other broker.

Among her many accomplishments throughout the years have been sales made to such varied New Yorkers as Henry Kissinger, Meryl Streep, and five members of the Rockefeller family. She has also represented the CEO's of companies ranging from Revlon to J.P. Morgan.

"The President's Award recognizes a broker who has displayed the utmost professionalism and contribution to the firm, colleagues, and the industry in general, and Carel Corcoran possesses all these characteristics tenfold," stated Brown Harris Stevens president Hall Willkie.

The Broker of the Year awards were presented to the following Brown Harris Stevens top-producing brokers:

* Broker of the Year Eastside: Kathy Sloane, a Vice President and Director, is one of the firm's top producers.

* Broker of the Year Upper East Side: Cathy Franklin has been with Brown Harris Stevens since 1987 and has been awarded several top honors.

* Broker of the Year Upper Westside: Dorothy Arnsten and Ileen Schoenfeld, a partnership under the aegis of Brown Harris Stevens, have been named the top brokers of the year for the Upper Westside for the past four years.

* Broker of the Year Downtown: Mara Papasoff has been one of the top producing sales and listing brokers with Brown Harris Stevens since joining the firm in 1999.

* Broker of the Year Brooklyn Heights/Rental Broker of the Year Brooklyn: Brian Lehner was twice honored by Brown Harris Stevens in 2004, as Broker of the Year in Brooklyn Heights and Brooklyn Rental Broker of the Year.

* Broker of the Year Park Slope: Rosalie Weider, a vice president at Brown Harris Stevens in Brooklyn, has been one of Park Slope's leading real estate brokers for over 26 years.

Brown Harris Stevens Rookie of the Year for 2004 was Edward F. Johnston III, who is based in the company's Eastside Manhattan office.

The Biggest Deal of the Year honor was a tie, with Sol Howard and partners Dorothy Arnsten & Ileen Schoenfeld both claiming the prize. Mr. Howard has been in the real estate business for 34 years, specializing in townhouses, co-ops and condominiums. He joined Brown Harris Stevens in 1982 and immediately became one of the most successful brokers at the company.

Elaine Clayman was named 2004 Referral Broker of the Year. Ms. Clayman heads The Clayman Group at Brown Harris Stevens. Clayman has sold the greatest number of apartments and exclusives for the firm every year since 2000.

Finally, the Townhouse Broker of the Year award went to Wolf Jakubowski for the third year in a row. Wolf has been in New York City real estate since 1979.
