) today announced unaudited operating results for the second quarter and six months ended March 31, 1996.

This amount is calculated by subtracting the following items from gross sales: merchandise returned for credit, allowances for damaged or missing goods, freight
 for the three months ended March 31, 1996, increased 3% to $31,202,000 from $30,264,000 for the same period in fiscal 1995. Earnings per share increased 15% to $.31 from $.27 the prior year. Actual earnings increased to $1,741,000 from $1,581,000 in 1995.

Net sales for the six months ended March 31, 1996, increased 2% to $58,901,000 from $57,522,000 the prior year. Earnings per share for the six-month period increased 16% to $.58 from $.50 the prior year with actual earnings increasing to $3,246,000 from $2,992,000 in 1995.
