BFGoodrich continues success in 777 wheel & brake market.

SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 1996--BFGoodrich Aerospace, Wheel & Brake Division, has secured 68 percent of the business from airlines selecting wheels and brakes for Boeing 777 commercial aircraft.

Currently, six airlines have selected BFGoodrich to supply wheels and carbon brakes for their fleet of 777 aircraft. The majority of these airlines are located in the Asian Pacific Rim Pacific Rim, term used to describe the nations bordering the Pacific Ocean and the island countries situated in it. In the post–World War II era, the Pacific Rim has become an increasingly important and interconnected economic region. .

BFGoodrich attributes their success to several factors including reliability, thermal, dynamic and cost of operation advantages. The reliability of their brake is achieved with performance-proven SUPER-CARB(R) carbon material and design features. BFGoodrich wheels and brakes have been in service for more than seven (7) months on eight (8) in-service 777 aircraft approaching 600 landings with no reported in-service problems.

The combination of SUPER-CARB(R) carbon with its inherent internal damping and friction stability and service-proven brake design features offer a large vibration stability margin. In addition, a large margin in thermal and turnaround capability is achieved as a result of design features which increase convective cooling.

To maintain a low cost of operation and a high-level reliability, BFGoodrich designed the brake to incorporate an EDL See nonlinear video editing.
