BFD INDUSTRIES TO TRADE IN UNITED STATES

 MARKHAM, Ontario, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- BFD Industries announced today that its common stock has been approved for trading on the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotation (NASDAQ) Bulletin Board System effective at the opening of today's trading. The company will trade under the symbol BFDI.F.
 "Becoming an SEC reporting company and being able to have its common stock traded in the U.S. are major milestones for BFD Industries," Al Millar, BFD president, stated. "We are making this move because we have a substantial number of American shareholders and we wish to provide them with the convenience and ability to trade BFD shares in the U.S."
 BFD Industries reported revenues for the nine months ended Sept. 30, 1992, of $5.4 million up from $488,000 for the same period a year ago. The net loss was $319,000, or three cents a share, compared to a loss $681,000, or 12 cents a share during the same period a year ago.
 BFD also reported pro forma results of operations for comparative purposes which give effect to its purchase of Alpha Pro Tech, Inc. on May 1, 1992, as if the purchase was consummated on Jan. 1, 1991. On a pro forma basis, revenues of BFD and Alpha Pro Tech would have been $7.7 million for the nine months ended Sept. 30, 1992 and $4.5 million in the same period a year ago. On the same basis, the net losses would have been $4,960 for the 1992 period and $539,000 for the prior year's nine month period.
 BFD Industries manufactures and markets a full line of patented eye and face shield products for healthcare, industrial and consumer applications. The shields are optically clear, distortion free and anti-fogging. They are also disposable in order to eliminate any chance of cross contamination. BFD's Alpha Pro Tech unit manufacturers surgical and dental face masks, as well as medi-pads. BFD has operations in Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Birmingham and Huntsville, Ala., and Janesville, Wis.
