BEYOND RAISES $6.6 MILLION IN GROWTH CAPITAL; NOVELL AND BANYAN MAKE EQUITY INVESTMENT

 CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Beyond Incorporated, a leading enterprise-wide e-mail and workgroup applications vendor, today announced it has raised $6.6 million in a third round of financing. The company also announced investment participation from the two largest network operating system companies -- Banyan Systems and Novell Inc.
 In addition to Banyan and Novell, funding comes from Trinity Ventures, Greylock Management and Highland Capital, as well as from existing investors Matrix Partners; Merrill Pickard, Anderson & Eyre; New Enterprise Associates; and Atlas Ventures. Beyond will use the funding to increase sales and marketing and expand research and development for products in workgroup computing.
