The Bowl's new shell - the venue's fifth since 1929 - preserves the curve of the earlier covering but promises greatly improved sound. The result of a year-long construction project that began in October 2003, the concentric shell brings the natural outdoor amphitheater up to current standards and allows for more space on stage and better lighting technology.
