BETT 2009.

BETT has reinforced its position as the world's largest technology in education event as it attracted a record number of visitors from both the UK and abroad. 30,008* visitors attended BETT, at Olympia, London from 14-17 January, which is a four per cent increase on last year's figures and the highest ever turnout.

UK visitor attendance also grew, with an overall four per cent increase on last year, while international figures remained at the same high level as last year.

BETT continues to evolve with the sector in order to bring the latest news and information to its visitors. 2009 saw the introduction of an exciting new theme on the central feature area entitled 'Learning Elsewhere' which was hugely popular with visitors throughout the show, with students on stand to help visitors take learning beyond the four walls of the classroom. Developed in association with Stephen Heppell, live link ups with schools from around the world including Australia and the Cayman Islands were also broadcast, and the UK students on the 'Learning Elsewhere' stand were able to talk to the international students about how technology is used in each of their school systems.
