BET Defends New Reality Series on Lil' KimReginald Hudlin, the filmmaker who joined BET as its new entertainment president last summer, came to the defense of the reality series, which follows Lil’ Kim during the days before she begins her 366 day sentencing, describing it as being about “an absurd and tragic and Fellini-esque situation.” When asked whether or not the network considered promoting such show was a way of "glorifying" the Queen Bee’s perjury regarding the shootout outside New York’s Hip Hop and R&B; radio station, Hot 97, Hudlin assured the program would not take either the subject or the sentence lightly. Tracy Edmonds, executive producer of the series, said “You’ll get to meet Kimberly Jones as a person, and not just as a public icon.” Other shows on the BET line up include “Season of the Tiger,” a reality show about the football team and marching band at Grambling State University, which premiers in May, and a new Sunday public-affairs program called “Meet the Faith,” which airs March 19th.
