The first local museum exhibit features award-winning annual projects of participants from the 31 4-H programs throughout Ventura County. ``Stars of the 4-H: The 80th Anniversary of 4-H in Ventura County'' highlights the ``best of the best'' created by kids of all ages.

``Four-H is more than cows and cooking,'' said Sally McNeilan, exhibit organizer and Foothill 4-H Club leader. ``Projects are longer term than some of those found in Scouting scouting: see Boy Scouts; Girl Scouts.

``It's a great accomplishment when you get best of show. It's a real challenge,'' said Graves, recalling her winning experiences at the Ventura County Fair. Graves worked at her photography for five years and her stained glass for about seven years while a 4-H member.

``The exhibit includes silly stuff and serious stuff,'' McNeilan said. Arts, crafts, sciences, animal projects, service projects, health projects and countless other categories of activity are represented by the innumerable display items. That's about it,'' said 10-year-old Casey Cleary, who was invited by McNeilan to display a poster explaining horse jumping techniques. The poster won a Best of the Best award at the Ventura County Fair this summer. Cleary participates in the Moorpark 4-H unit.
