BEST DATA TO PROVIDE COX CABLE MODEMS.

CHATSWORTH - Best Data Products Inc. said Thursday that it has signed an agreement with Cox Communications Cox Communications is a privately owned subsidiary of Cox Enterprises providing digital cable television and telecommunications services in the United States. It is the third-largest[2] cable television provider in the United States, serving more than 6.  to provide the cable company with DOCSIS (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) A cable modem standard from the CableLabs research consortium (www.cablelabs.com), which provides equipment certification for interoperability.  cable modems to be installed nationwide.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

``We are very pleased to be working with Cox Communications,'' said Bruce Zaman, president and chief executive officer of Best Data. ``We hope in the future to develop new products that will allow us to expand our broadband business.''

The Chatsworth-based company is working with other multiple service operators, including Media One, to provide modems that will allow them to deliver high-speed Internet See broadband.  access.

``We have begun filling the order and should complete the shipments by the second quarter of next year,'' said Maggie Curran, Internet marketing See Internet advertising.  and public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. ``With the standardization of the DOCSIS platform in cable communications, Best Data provides another solid resource that Cox, along with other MSOs, can utilize for DOCSIS certified modems,'' said Dick Wallace, vice president of materials management for Atlanta-based Cox Communications, in a statement.

``We look forward to working with Best Data, now and in the future, on the successful deployment of cable modems to our subscriber base,'' Wallace said.
