     WHAT: Holiday shoppers head to Best Buy to "tech the halls" this
           season with digital technology gift items that make time
           more fun:

          --   Wireless phones with Internet and e-mail capabilities
          --   Sega Dreamcast gaming system
          --   Digital television
          --   TiVo - gives you control over live TV
          --   Color Gameboy and popular Pokemon Yellow game
          --   Hand-held computers such as the Palm Pilot
          --   Digital camcorders and cameras
          --   Computers and computer software
          --   DVD players and movies
          --   MP3 players and CDs

           According to a recent survey by International Mass
           Retail Association (IMRA), consumer electronics is
           the third most popular holiday gift item, following
           clothes and toys. Survey results show one in four
           shoppers (26 percent) expect to purchase consumer
           electronics, computers, TVs, stereos, CDs and books
           this season.

     WHO: Holiday shoppers out for the busiest shopping day of the
          year. The first 500 shoppers at each store will receive a
          Best Buy mascot beanie toy.

   WHERE: 354 Best Buy stores in 37 states

    WHEN: Friday, November 26
           Stores open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

   Interviews: TV crews, reporters and photographers welcome.

     --   Store managers may be available for comment, but please
          respect if they decline since this is a very busy day.

     --   Call contact for nearest store location.

The IMRA 1999 Holiday Shopping survey was conducted in October with
consumers across the U.S. Other IMRA survey results include:

     --   Consumers plan to spend and average of $840 on gifts this
          year.

     --   26 percent of holiday shoppers expect to buy music,
          computers, stereos, TVs, books, etc.

     --   In 1999, Americans will spend more than $277 billion during
          November and December.
