 Consultants Inc. has been selected by Valencia-based Bertelsmann Services Inc. to deploy WorldLink, CMS's Web-based transportation management and logistics solution.

WorldLink was chosen following a thorough evaluation of the major vendors.

WorldLink will enable Bertelsmann to manage its worldwide shipping activities from a central Web server located at its Valencia headquarters, streamlining logistics and distribution. WorldLink integrates shipping, order fulfillment Order fulfillment (in BE also: order fulfilment) is in the most general sense the complete process from point of sales inquiry to delivery of a product to the customer. Sometimes Order fulfillment  and other Bertelsmann applications with real-time 1. real-time - Describes an application which requires a program to respond to stimuli within some small upper limit of response time (typically milli- or microseconds).  application to its technology for customers in the high tech, health care and automotive markets.

The new application will enable Bertelsmann to enhance the solutions it provides by expediting freight transactions, facilitating timely deliveries and providing better management reporting tools.

Bertelsmann will introduce the WorldLink technology in phases. The first phase involves defining and designing a worldwide logistics backbone as well as linking two of Bertelsmann's Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  distribution centers. Subsequent phases will integrate additional regional Bertelsmann distribution centers.

CMS Consultants Inc. provides transportation management software and solutions.
